Keto Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe
This keto cream cheese frosting recipe is quick and easy to whip together and is perfect to enjoy with low carb cakes, cupcakes, to sandwich cookies together – or by the spoon full!
Keto Powdered Sugar – the trick to super smooth icing is using powdered or icing sugar. Thankfully a keto friendly version is easy to find on Amazon. (Find it here.)
For an even smoother frosting, sieve the sugar so that there are absolutely no lumps.
Ensure that the cream cheese and butter is sufficiently softened by being out the fridge for a few hours before using, so that the frosting will whip up easily and be luxuriously creamy.
I’ve kept the frosting vanilla flavored by including vanilla extract, you could add lemon zest or juice for lemon flavored frosting or a couple of tablespoons of cocoa powder for chocolate icing.
Keto Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe
- 100g/3.5oz Cream Cheese, softened
- 50g Unsalted Butter, softened
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2-4 Tablespoons Keto Powdered Sugar
- Place the softened cream cheese and butter in a large bowl, then, using electric beaters, whisk until smooth and creamy.
- Add the vanilla and whisk in.
- Add the keto sugar and whisk in until fully combined.
- Use straight away or place in the fridge for a few hours to harden, if need be. Store in the fridge, ideally in a sealed container, and enjoy within 4 to 5 days.
