Chocolate Mousse With Coconut Milk Recipe – How to make the best easy creamy 3 ingredient low carb, keto, sugar free, dairy-free pudding dessert – with the full video tutorial.
Chocolate Mousse With Coconut Milk
This chocolate mousse with coconut milk makes a super quick and easy sweet treat that’s keto, low carb, sugar free and dairy free friendly too.
The best part is that you only need 3 ingredients to create the creamy mousse that will satisfy your sweet tooth and chocolate cravings, while helping you on your way to achieving your own personal health and weight loss goals.
You’ll find that the dessert doesn’t have a strong coconut flavor, with the cocoa powder and stevia working perfectly to create the flavors of a traditional mousse.
The Simple Ingredients For The Easy Recipe
Here are the handful of ingredients that you’ll need for the effortless dessert, as well as good substitute ideas for extra ingredients to adapt the chocolate treat if you’d like.
Canned Coconut Milk – when you pop a can of coconut milk into the fridge and leave it overnight, it separates into two layers – coconut cream on top and coconut water on the bottom.
The coconut cream on top is what’s used as a heavy cream substitute in the dairy-free recipe to whip into perfectly creamy and rich whipped cream that the chocolate and stevia are blended into to form the fluffy mousse.
You can save the watery liquid that’s left at the bottom of the can to blend into smoothies and shakes. Ensure that you use unsweetened coconut milk that you’ll find at grocery stores, so you don’t include any added sugar in the carb count.
Cocoa Powder – to achieve the rich, chocolate flavor in the indulgent dessert, add on 2 tablespoons or more of cocoa powder or cacao powder.
Stevia – to keep the dessert low in grams of net carbs, stevia is used to sweet the mousse. You can swap for your low carb sweetener of choice such as monk fruit sweetener, powdered sugar alternative or an erythritol blend instead.
The recipe suggests 2 tablespoons each of cocoa powder and stevia, I’d suggest start with the 2 of each, then taste and if you’d prefer a mousse that has a richer chocolate flavor add more cocoa powder, or if you’d prefer a sweeter mousse, add more stevia to satisfy your taste buds perfectly.
Flavor – you can adapt the flavor of the elegant dessert by adding a little vanilla extract or a half to a teaspoon of one of the following extract flavors: orange extract, coconut extract or raspberry extract.
Toppings – there are plenty delicious options to top your chocolate coconut mousse with that will further satisfy your sweet craving while being ketogenic diet friendly, such as topping with dark chocolate shavings, dark chocolate chips, fresh berries, shredded coconut, vegan ice cream or whipped cream.
