If you’re new to Halloumi Cheese, then you’re in for a treat. It’s kind of like a really salty feta and when fried is irresistible.
Due to the salty flavour profile, Halloumi is best paired with refreshing low carb ingredients like tomato, berries or spinach. It also works well with creamy ingredients like avocado.
You can further balance the flavours of your salad with a drizzle of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice and olive oil.
Below is my go to combination at the moment. Sometimes I make a small portion just for myself, sometimes I’ll make a bowl full to feed the family. So, follow the directions and adapt the low carb halloumi salad to your tastes and how many people will be enjoying it.

- Halloumi Cheese
- Butter or Coconut Oil, for frying
- Spinach
- Avocado
- Heat the butter or coconut oil in a frying pan.
- Meanwhile, slice the halloumi cheese into bite sized pieces.
- When the frying pan is hot, cook the halloumi, tossing until cooked on all sides.
- Place the spinach onto a plate, top with the cooked halloumi and add avocado, chopped into bite sized pieces.
