Keto Crispy Chicken Thighs
These keto crispy chicken thighs are super easy to make and the method creates extra crispy skin that’s perfectly tender within. The entire family will adore this simple recipe that’s pure comfort food with amazing flavor.
I like to keep it simple and just smother the thighs in olive oil, then shake over plenty of salt and paprika.
You can add on onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning or any other seasoning or fresh herbs you like. You could also swap the oil for avocado oil or any oil you like.
You can bake the keto meal on it’s own or add in some vegetables to roast too. I tend to just pop in a handful of unpeeled garlic cloves that add fragrance and then my Husband and I just enjoy them whole with the chicken.
You can use boneless chicken thighs in keto chicken thigh recipes or include bone in thighs as I’ve use in the easy recipe. Another option is to use chicken wings, drumsticks or your chicken piece of choice that’s budget friendly. (Here are more cheap keto meals.)
If making with bone in chicken, then just save leftover chicken bones for making chicken broth or chicken soup, so nothing goes to waste.

- 1kg/2.2lbs Chicken Thighs
- 2-4 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Salt & Pepper, to taste
- Paprika
- Preheat the oven to 200C/400F and get out a large oven proof dish or well lined baking sheet.
- Place the chicken into the oven proof dish in a single layer, drizzle over the oil and toss the chicken well to cover in the oil.
- Shake over salt and paprika and toss the chicken once again, moving them all to be skin side down.
- You can shake over more salt and paprika, plus your seasoning of choice then move to the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, turn the chicken over so that all of the pieces are skin side up and return to the oven for a final 25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and you have crisp skin to your liking. Serve with your sides of choice or sour cream for dipping.
